Who is responsible
Maplehorizonscand Ltd is responsible for personal information it processes in connection with this website and editorial correspondence. Registered office: 18 King Street, Bristol BS1 4EF, United Kingdom. Company no. 14830672. Privacy enquiries may be sent to [email protected].
Website access
Your browser necessarily provides technical information, such as your IP address and requested resource, to the hosting infrastructure when loading a page. Hosting services may process access and security logs for delivery, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. This site’s supplied code does not add analytics, advertising pixels, user accounts or cross-site tracking.
The local writing desk
The contact tool constructs a note in your browser. It does not submit the subject or message to a server and does not intentionally save your draft in browser storage. “Copy note” asks your browser to write the built note to your clipboard. “Download note” creates a text file locally. Your operating system, clipboard history, downloads folder or browser restoration features may retain information under their own settings.
Email you choose to send
If you send an email, we receive the content, your email address and associated message information. We use these to consider enquiries, review corrections and respond where appropriate. Our lawful basis is normally our legitimate interest in operating an editorial publication and managing correspondence. Where processing is necessary to meet a legal obligation, that obligation is the basis.
Service providers and sharing
Hosting and email providers may process information to deliver their services. We do not sell correspondence or use it to create advertising profiles. Information may be disclosed where required by law or necessary to address security incidents or legal claims. If personal information is transferred outside the United Kingdom, applicable data-protection safeguards must be used.
Retention and minimisation
We retain correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to handle the enquiry, maintain a useful correction record or meet legal obligations. Irrelevant personal details should not be included in a message. You may ask about the retention of a particular exchange; statutory duties or legal claims may require some information to be kept.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may need proportionate identity checks before responding. Where consent is used, it may be withdrawn without affecting processing already lawfully carried out.
You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Please also contact us if you believe we have handled information incorrectly.
Storage choices and external sites
The Cookies page explains the local preference key and how to remove it. External source links take you to services with their own privacy practices. This notice may be updated when the website’s processing changes.
